Code of Conduct

Code of Conduct / The Golden Rules

Working with your students to develop a code of conduct. They need to feel invested in it, so it’s vital that they’re involved in agreeing its contents. The code is divided into sections to develop them into discussion topics.

Respecting each other: We all have the right to be respected.
Respecting others:

  • We are polite to each other.
  • We respect everyone’s differences.
  • We recognise that we all have the right to be heard.

We respect the fact that we are here to learn.

Behaviour

  • We respond when we are asked to do or say something.
  • We know how to behave and what to do in case of a fire alarm.
  • We do not run in the corridors.
  • We hold doors open for others.
  • We tidy up our workspace and use the bins provided.
  • We do not swear at any time.
  • We switch off or silence our mobile phones during lessons.
  • We arrive on time for lessons and with the necessary equipment.
  • We inform the school if we are absent.

We will not tolerate:

  • Damage to property within the classrooms or school.
  • Persistent refusal to accept the school rules or discipline.
  • Verbal abuse towards staff or students.
  • Physical violence towards staff or students.
  • Bullying or harassment.
  • Sexual misconduct.
  • Substance abuse.
  • Theft
